About Us

Collage (pronounced col-laj) - French word for an assemblage of diverse elements or fragments (such as paper, found art, cardboard, photos, 3D objects, etc.) in unlikely or unexpected juxtaposition, pasted on a single surface.

Lauretta (Lauri) Lowell, an interior decorator and artist, and Betty Klass, a contemporary artist, met in May 2008 in Sun City Palm Desert, California, where they both reside. Immediately they hit it off and, within less than a month, formed Artistic Adventures, beginning and intermediate classes in collage and decoupage art. Classes are taught in Betty's studio at her home.

Because of their diverse backgrounds in contemporary and urbane folkart design, which spans more than 35 years between the two of them, their workshops are truly unique. Lauretta stated,"Art is an explosive expression of humanity. It's something everyone is touched by and no matter what culture people are from, everyone appreciates the beauty of art."

The basis for their classes is simple:

     “Art heals the soul.”
